The article examines the problem of ensuring public safety when transporting petroleum products by road in populated areas during terrorist attacks, analyzes possible scenarios for them, and suggests ways to improve transportation safety by improving the designs of tanker trucks used to transport petroleum products with increased strength characteristics from the effects of modern means of destruction used by terrorists, choosing routes that are safe for the population to transport vehicles with petroleum products within the boundaries of populated areas, improving the organization of ways to prevent terrorist attacks and promptly eliminate their consequences with minimal damage to people.
