It is noted that in the context of globalization and integration of the modern world, there is a need to modernize the organization and conduct of control and supervisory activities, taking into account a risk-based approach. The prospects of development in the fire safety system are investigated, namely the transition from responding (extinguishing fires) to carrying out preventive measures aimed at preventing the occurrence of a fire. A study of key risk indicators has been conducted, and their practical application in the system of federal state fire supervision has been considered. The importance of indicators for improving the fire protection system in Russia is analyzed. The creation of a system of risk indicators that help identify the possibility of a fire at an early stage is considered. Approaches to the development and implementation of new methods for determining threats affecting the fire safety of a protected object are proposed using the developments of IT specialists, including the use of artificial intelligence.
