This paper examines the accounting of economic costs arising from emergencies, their response, and the overcoming of various consequences, including over the long term, not only for directly affected economic entities but also for all their counterparties. Proposals are made to improve the effectiveness of this procedure, thereby streamlining the response to emergencies and overcoming their consequences.
