The article discusses the possibility of posing the question of the techniques of knowledge and communication. In the modern era, the development of mass media and artificial intelligence has presented us with a new form of sign production and exchange, with incredible capabilities for collecting and processing information, but we still do not understand whether we are dealing with a new form of intelligence or just a highly advanced but limited technical device. The article attempts to return to the original concept of the technical and the role of the technical in shaping human cognition and means of communication. The connection between the development of technology and the formation of a certain type of subjectivity, which is necessary for testing the application of technical skills, is shown. This correlation between technology and the subject remains a major issue in modern technological advancements.
