The analysis of the mandatory preventive visit as a key preventive measure within the framework of the federal state fire supervision is carried out. In the context of the strategic course of the state on the priority of prevention over the elimination of the consequences of fires, the essence, legal basis and procedural features of this event are considered. Special attention is paid to the planned nature of the mandatory preventive visit, its limited duration and reliability. Based on the analysis of the regulatory framework statistical data substantiates the trend of increasing the role of such visits. The conducted analysis allows us to state that preventive measures, namely the mandatory preventive visit, have established themselves as a system element of the federal state fire supervision, reflecting the strategic transition to a proactive risk management model, and further development and implementation in the workflow is an objective necessity.
