DETERMINATION OF THE STRUCTURAL DIMENSIONS OF A COMPOSITE BANDAGE FOR REPAIRING A PIPELINE SECTION WITH A DANGEROUS DEFECT

Abstract:
Defects in the walls of operated pipelines occur due to the chemical and physico-mechanical effects of liquid or gaseous hydrocarbons transported under high internal pressure, as well as due to the negative effects of the external environment. The urgent problem of ensuring the safety and increasing the remaining life of the operated pipelines requires the search for effective technical solutions for their repair and restoration. Repair of a defective section of the pipeline using a composite bandage makes it possible to increase its bearing capacity and increase its service life. The article develops a method for determining the structural dimensions of a composite bandage for repairing a pipeline with a dangerous defect. The conditions characterizing the current condition of the pipeline, which require the installation of a composite bandage, are considered. The method takes into account the mechanical characteristics of the pipe material and composite bandage, the influence of stress concentration due to the presence of a dangerous defect. A composite bandage is formed by winding a prepreg onto the outer surface of a pipe with a dangerous defect. The calculation of the structural dimensions of a fiberglass bandage for repairing a defective pipe made of 09G2C steel according to the proposed method is presented.
