Modern problems of prompt response of forces and means to the place of search and rescue operations in the water area of Saint-Petersburg are considered. The specifics of the water area are analyzed, and ways to solve problems are proposed by optimizing the structure of the arrangement of rescue stations of the search and rescue service of Saint-Petersburg. Conclusions are drawn about the need to build new stations and reconstruct existing ones. A new layout of the deployment of forces and means of the search and rescue service of Saint-Petersburg is proposed, taking into account the specifics of the water area, as a condition for solving problematic issues.
