The world history of creation and development of airships is briefly presented and the actualization of airship construction is currently being discussed. Perspective directions of the use of airships in different spheres of activity are considered. Modern designs of foreign and domestic airships are presented, the advantages of their use in remote and inaccessible territories in comparison with aviation. Including the Arctic.
