In the scientific article the author by means of a lexicology and legal etymology makes an attempt of consideration of process of formation and transformation of concepts ukraine, Great and Small Russia on the example of formation of the Zaporizhia Cossacks and inclusion of Left-bank Ukraine in structure of Russia in 1654.
