According to current methodology the carbon residue electrical resistance of thermoplastic polymeric materials is in inverse proportion with temperature and duration of pyrolysis. However, laboratory studies of carbon residue of PVC plastic window profiles showed disembodied data on dependence of the electrical resistance on duration of pyrolysis. Disparate results are caused by the process of thermal distruction of the carbon residue of polymer material. The findings confirmed the inexpedience of using the existing methods of investigation of carbon residue electrical resistance of polymer materials in searching for the body of fire in fire safety expertise.
