The paper describes emergencies occurring on roads situated in the areas exposed to peat-bog fires. The paper analyses modeling approaches for the assessment of air pollution from different sources and describes a calculation method for the estimation and the forecast of emission of toxic substances from peat-bog fires and their subsequent transfer (diffusion) to the roads. The technique allows estimation of potential negative impacts of peat-bog fires on humans on roads in terms of limit value units. The results of numerical prognostication of roadside air pollution by CO emitted from a nearby peat-bog fire at adverse weather are also presented.
