Abstract (English):
The questions of responsibility for arson in the Russian legislation before the reign of Peter I. Particular attention is paid to such documents as the «Russian Truth», «Council Code», «Mandate of city deanery». The special role of Russian rulers (Vladimir I, Yaroslav the Wise, Vladimir Monomakh, Ivan III, Ivan the Terrible, Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov) in fighting the fire element.
