Timely prediction of accidents of the linear part of the main gas pipelines can prevent the occurrence of fires and explosions, environmental and material damage. The methods used for this purpose are a tool for monitoring the safe operation of complex technical systems. Despite this, a number of unresolved problems remain. To solve these problems, the authors consider the shortcomings in the methods for examining the linear part of the main gas pipelines and describe a monitoring technique based on the use of unmanned aircraft and neural network forecasting methods.
