Abstract (English):
The presented work has cognitive significance, it contains interesting data on the Soviet period of the development of the Arctic and in particular, the creation and use of the state system of HF communication. Interesting facts about the formation and development of a scientific school that has influenced the development of the domestic radio industry. The current state of the communication system and prospects for the development of modern telecommunications infrastructure in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation are considered.
