This article examines the feasibility and usefulness of the descriptive and normative models for the study of security issues of social and economic systems. The theoretical approach to modeling these classes on the verbal level and in the form of set-theoretic relations. The necessity of the use of these models for the synthesis of control actions in the interests of security of social and economic systems.
