REDUCING RISKS BY INCREASING THE RELIABILITY OF ELECTRICAL MACHINES
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The features of the cooling circuit of electrical machines are considered, including open and closed cooling circuits, as well as indirect and direct cooling circuits. The features of calculating pressure loss with serial and parallel connection of sections of the cooling system path and thermal calculation of elements of the cooling system of electric machines, including the method of equivalent heating losses and the method of thermal equivalent circuits, are presented. The heat exchangers of the cooling system of electrical machines are considered, including air, gas and water-water heat exchangers used in electrical machines, as well as oil, oil-air and oil-water heat exchangers used in transformers. A method for calculating the total thermal resistance of a heat exchanger that is part of the cooling system of an electric machine is presented. An example of assessing the influence of the finning coefficient on the value of the heat transfer coefficient of the heat exchanger of the cooling system of an electric machine is considered. With an increase in the heat transfer coefficient of the heat exchanger, the efficiency of the cooling system increases, reliability increases, and the risk of failure of the electrical machine decreases.
