In order to improve interdepartmental cooperation in responding to various emergencies in the Arctic zone, the President of the Russian Federation supported the initiative to hold in 2025, under the leadership of EMERCOM of Russia, an interdepartmental experimental research exercise of forces and means of the unified state system for emergency prevention and response in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation «Safe Arctic – 2025». As part of the business program, a round table dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory was held on January 29, 2025: «The heroic defense of the soviet North during the Great Patriotic war». This scientific article, the theses of which were announced at the round table, is interdisciplinary in nature. The historical canvas is revealed through the prism of fine art, the sources are paintings by masters of socialist realism. The creative intelligentsia and, in particular, Soviet artists also brought Victory closer. Their canvases depicted the heroic struggle against fascism, instilled optimism in Soviet people, cultivated spiritual, moral and patriotic values, and left historical memory of the terrible and great days of the war to descendants.
