PREDICTION OF SPILLAGE SIZES OF ACCIDENTALLY CHEMICALLY HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES DURING THEIR TRANSPORTATION BY MOTOR TRANSPORT IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE ARCTIC REGION

Abstract (English):
The paper considers determining the geometric parameters of the spill area of chemically hazardous substances in accidents involving motor vehicles carrying these substances, taking into account the climatic conditions of the Arctic region, which , when predicting the consequences of such accidents, affect the depth of the secondary cloud of chemical contamination and the amount of time of damaging action. A method is proposed for determining the geometric parameters of the chlorine and ammonia spill area, taking into account the slope of the terrain and the climatic conditions of the Arctic region, based on the use of their viscosity data in calculations adapted to the viscosity data of petroleum products used in the experimental determination of specific spreading. Calculations of the geometric parameters of the chlorine and ammonia spill area are given, as a result of which it was found that these values change significantly with the slope of the terrain on the route. It has been established that the negative air temperatures inherent in the Arctic region have a negligible effect on the time of the damaging effect of chemically hazardous substances in an accident, and the main significant effect is wind speed. In order to ensure the safety of the population in case of accidents on vehicles carrying chemically hazardous substances on the routes of their movement in populated areas of the Arctic region, when predicting the possible consequences of an accident, it is proposed to take into account not only the geometric parameters of the strait area, taking into account the slope of the terrain and negative air temperatures, but also the prevailing wind speeds inherent in this region.
