The concept of a dissertation for the degree of candidate of sciences and general requirements for it as a scientific work, which contains a new solution to the task, are considered. The methodology of the necessary measures and actions of an associate or an applicant in the preparation and writing of a highly qualified scientific work, as well as some basic methods that he must be able to use in his work, is shown. The essence of modeling as a prototype reproducing the basic laws of the system under study is also considered.
