Abstract and keywords

Abstract (English):
A general description of the internal political situation in Italy at the turn of the 15th – 16th centuries is given and geopolitical features of the region. The situation that has developed in the Republic of Venice, the Duchy of Milan, the Republic of Florence, the Kingdom of Naples is described separately. The article discusses the path of ascension to the papal throne of Rodrigo Borgia, presents the results of biographical studies of his life and work, shows the role of Rodrigo Borgia in the internal politics of Italy, attention is paid to members of Rodrigo Borgia family.
