The article highlights the importance of the sociocultural approach to the formation of the foreign language competence of the specialists of EMERCOM of Russia. It contains the educational model of the formation of the foreign language competence of the specialists of EMERCOM of Russia. The author describes the main structural components of the model, as well as analyzes the results of the implementation of the model in the teaching practice at the University of EMERCOM of Russia.
