The article discusses the crisis of the axiological foundations of modern culture as a result of the formation of the consumer society with its cult of profit, entrepreneurship, success, efficiency, moving in a more exaggerated form of greed, consumerism, careerism, self-centeredness. Showing paradigmatic foundation of this philosophy in the concepts of Marxism, pragmatism and utilitarianism, as well as his criticism of the works of a number of representatives of the Frankfurt school of social philosophy.
