Approach to detection on the place of the fire of the vehicle of traces of the light oil product used at a deliberate arson as the initiator of burning is considered. Application of the offered approach by experts of a fire and technical profile when conducting fire investigation will provide a possibility of increase in reliability of establishment of the reasons of the fires of vehicles.
