The providing with the legal information of the state and public structures is actual today because of the formation of a common information and legal space. The foundations of the modern classification of normative legal acts are examined in the article, the characteristic of the classification process in the context of ordering and systematization of the legislation is given. The different ways of organizing the work about the classification of normative legal acts are analyzed.
