When using educational-material base in the educational process there is a problem of the level of its compliance to the modern development of computer technologies and the requirements of the educational programs. This article describes an approach to the evaluation of the educational-material base of the department, which deals with computer technologies. A mathematical apparatus for calculating the generalized didactic potential as the main indicator of compliance assessment of educational-material base to the modern development of computer technologies and educational programs was proposed in the article.
