The article substantiates the effectiveness of socio-psychological and pedagogical measures to prevent deaths from fires in the densely populated residential area. The main causes of such fires are revealed: non-compliance with fire safety regulations, negligent handling of fire, overconfidence. It is argued that modern realities require the development of additional measures to prevent deaths in fires, and these decisions are socio-psychological in nature. According to the authors, the introduction of provisions into the duties of the state fire supervision inspectorate providing for consulting and informing citizens on fire safety issues in the residential sector, providing information on fire safety requirements and rules at housing facilities, explaining responsibility measures and consequences of violations of fire safety requirements has psychological and pedagogical content. And coupled with the socio-psychological significance, it allows you to minimize losses. The article provides an analysis of the socio-psychological conditions for reducing human-related fires, and provides effective recommendations.
