In the context of the rapid development of information technologies, research on their impact on human socio-psychological development is of great importance. Of particular interest is the study of the relationship between video game addiction and deviant, aggressive behavior. The data obtained allows us to analyze how the content of the games, their genre specifics and the time spent on them relate to the actual emotional state of the players. The results of a socio-psychological study conducted in the spring of 2025 among respondents of Saint-Petersburg university of State fire service of EMERCOM of Russia are presented. Their attitude to video games, the goals of participation in them, favorite genres, the time that participants devote to the game, the impact on everyday life and professional activities, the impact on the emotional, volitional and cognitive sphere are revealed.
