DEVELOPMENT OF A RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM OF EMERCOM OF RUSSIA BASED ON THE TACTICAL COMMUNICATION DEVICE «METAPHORA» WITH INFORMATION PROTECTION AND INTERNETWORK RELAY FUNCTIONS

Abstract:
This paper examines improvements in radio communication organisation methods that enable the interconnection of different types of radio communication devices, as well as the interconnection of radio stations with communication networks for various purposes (telephone, data transmission, Internet) with the provision of message relay between different types of terminal devices. An analysis of additional technical means that increase the efficiency of radio communication has shown that the «Metaphor» tactical communication device with information protection and inter-network relay functions has the best tactical and technical characteristics and low cost. At the same time, the technological capabilities of additional equipment for radio devices (switches, repeaters, concentrators, signal converters, etc.) provide a significant increase in the efficiency of radio devices and the construction of radio communication networks, interaction with data transmission networks and telephone communication networks. During various tests at the training grounds of the EMERCOM of Russia rescue centres, the device was successfully tested and began to be used as a means of communication in many departments.
