The problems of organizing laboratory course in fire-technical universities of EMERCOM of Russia are discussed in the article. Shows the main the conceptual provisions of effective application of cognitive- activity model of laboratory practical. Analyses the results of the experiment on the application of cognitive-activity model laboratory course to intensify the formation of professional competence of students.
