The paper describes an information process for the comprehensive analysis of traffic and environmental safety of road transport in Saint-Petersburg (Russia). Instrumental and mathematical approaches of the information system allow controlling road accidents and air pollution on urban motorways. It is shown that the introduction of the European Emission Standards Euro-3, 4 and 5 helps to control the situation on the roads of St. Petersburg.
