The historical and legal aspects of the formation of the institution of the presidency in the modern world are considered. The legal nature of this institution of state power is revealed. The historical and legal stages of the formation of the institution of the presidency in the countries of the modern world are analyzed. Attention is focused on the role of this institution in the formation of right-wing, democratic states of our time.
