Abstract (English):
The article is devoted to the study of the problems of the importance of using the Northern sea route. The normative acts defining the international legal regime for the use of the most important straits used in the modern world are being studied. The problems of economic efficiency and safety of the use of the Northern sea route are investigated. The article examines the history of the normative consolidation of Russia's sovereign rights to polar possessions in the Arctic and the operation of the Northern sea route.
