The article considers the place and role of organizational and managerial competencies in professional training of specialists at the present stage. The main aspects of the content of such competencies are specified, the existing views on their place and role in professional activity are summarized. The work defines the main organizational and managerial competencies that involve the formation within the framework of physical education at the university. Based on a comprehensive analysis and generalization of the data available today, the authors substantiate approaches that ensure the effective formation of organizational and managerial competencies in university students within the framework of physical education and sports activities. The main goal of the work the formation of organizational and managerial competencies in university students is provided by the justification, development and experimental verification of the effectiveness of the experimental program. The presented results of theoretical and experimental studies allow us to conclude that the proposed solution is effective, indicate its feasibility and provide grounds for further scientific and practical development of this area.
